CPF-Gas Treatment System and Auxiliary Systems Project achieves gas intake and production ahead of schedule

Date: 2025-01-09

At 2:00 p.m. on 15 December 2024, with the inlet valve slowly opened, the associated gas from Faha oil field smoothly entered the gas treatment plant, marking the successful commissioning of the CPF-Gas Treatment System and Auxiliary Systems Project in Iraq, which was undertaken by Transtech Engineering Corporation Iraqi Branch. The project was completed 15 days ahead of the contracted completion date. The main production and technical managers of the PMO witnessed the whole process of commissioning on site.

The successful gas commissioning is another achievement following the successful oil commissioning of the CPF-Oil Treatment System and Auxiliary Systems Project on 27 April, once again creating a record of the shortest duration for a one-time successful commissioning of a similar project in Iraq, and becoming the first benchmark project in the history of Iraqi oilfield development in which crude oil and natural gas processing facilities were planned, constructed and commissioned at the same time and in the same year.

As a key green and livelihood project in Iraq, the successful commissioning of CPF-Gas Treatment System and Auxiliary Systems Project will greatly reduce the emission of associated gas from the oilfields, which is of great significance in increasing the local natural gas supply, protecting the environment, reducing carbon emissions. The natural gas and LPG produced by the project after commissioning will be able to meet the electricity demand of 3 million local households, which will enhance Iraq's energy security capacity and improve people's livelihood.

As the main construction company of the project, Transtech Engineering Corporation attaches great importance to the performance of the project, the main leaders visited the construction site several times to coordinate and command, the project team and all parties involved in the construction of the project to cooperate, optimize the construction organization, strengthen the process of supervision, to ensure good safety, quality and progress, and successfully overcame the tight schedule, heavy tasks, difficult construction conditions, complex external environment and other unfavorable factors, and made every effort to ensure that the project was completed ahead of schedule. The professionalism and execution ability of Iraqi branch in the construction process were highly appreciated by the Employer and the general contractor.

As the company's first oilfield ground project, the successful gas injection of this project is an important achievement of Iraq Branch in implementing the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’ strategy, ploughing into key country markets and laying out the ‘new track’ of oil and gas engineering. Based on its own comparative advantages and market demand, the Iraqi branch will explore segmented development strategies, actively expand the ‘second curve’ of production capacity cooperation, achieve differentiated development, and contribute to the company's high-quality development.
